The city preliminary election is tomorrow, September 12. Ward 1 will vote for for councilor-at-large. Ward 1 Precinct 1 votes at the Bentley School on Memorial Drive. (The Derby Street Neighborhood is in Ward 1 Precinct 1.) Register by October 18 to vote in the November election (mayor, ward and at large councilors, and school committee). Watch the city clerk's pages at salem.com for more information.

The City of Salem and its consulting engineer, VHB, will hold a public neighborhood meeting to present the plans for corridor improvements in and around Derby Street. The meeting is open to all and will take place at 6pm on September 13 in St. Joseph's Hall, 160 Derby Street.

Watch for information in October on our web site at hdsna.org. A new design and content update is due out for our November meeting.

Dues (by voluntary donation) are now $10/year/household.

Board elections in November; nominations open now (signup sheet at the back or e-mail info@hdsna.org). Positions are co-chair (2), treasurer, secretary, communications, and at-large.

Next meeting is Tuesday, October 10 at Finz: Ward 1 councilor candidates' forum.
